Session 10 — 2026-10-31

The dragon summit: a treaty between the metallic dragons and the Council of Waterdeep; then on to Julkoun in the Misty Forest.

The summit

Otaaryliakkarnos ("Elia"), still in dragon form, escorted the party into a massive hall with a stone table, a huge dropoff behind it, and four dragons of the Council of Dragons. Protanther welcomed them dourly. Barnacas introduced the Irregulars and offered Diderius's (empty) bone scroll tube as homage; Tazmikella suspiciously demanded why it was empty. Protanther mocked Barnacas's lineage but admitted Nymurrh asked him to hear them out.

Nymurrh opened by revealing that Lady Dala Silmerhelve and her family are dear friends of his, then asked each PC to name their faction: Barnacas — Harpers; Zeiria ("Z") — Emerald Enclave (Nymurrh: "dramatic, but mostly harmless"; mocked her wish for everyone to get along); Viktor ("V") — Order of the Gauntlet; Kiviak — Arma's brass scale, worn around his neck.

Grievances raised

• Protanther sensed elven blood in Viktor with disgust, citing the Rage of Dragons. Barnacas: we don't blame all dragons for the chromatics either.
• Elia was glad no dwarves were present, citing the Dragon Mootss. Barnacas noted the party just foiled a dwarf who would be Wyrmspeaker (Varram); Zeiria: don't treat enemies as they treat us.
• Elia wants back the remains of her niece, killed in a Dragon Moot and made into dragon-scale armor.
• Tazmikella said Barnacas's Staff of Charming was stolen from her hoard long ago. Deal: Barnacas keeps using it, returns it after Tiamat is defeated.
• Ileuthra asked about Kiviak's scale and Arma.
• Protanther requested an audience with King Melandrach. He'd have struck the cult already, but Ileuthra and Elia counseled "Bahamut's patience" to avoid casualties. Barnacas: far worse if Tiamat returns; and the council had trust issues with the Irregulars too.
• Ileuthra: the The Five Dragon Masks can't be destroyed; insisted the dragons get them. Barnacas agreed to raise it with the council.
• Zeiria privately promised Elia to do everything possible to recover the niece's remains.

Sending Stone call to the Council of Waterdeep

Via a Sending Stone to Taern "Thunderspells" Hornblade and the Council of Waterdeep:

• Barnacas reported his own pledge to give up a powerful artifact.
• Melandrach–Protanther meeting agreed (Melandrach insists his people had nothing to do with the Rage).
• Masks: council requires they be removed from this plane.
• Niece's remains: only a good-faith effort promised.
• Council asks the dragons to coordinate efforts and armies at the Well of Dragons; thanks for the parley.

The treaty

Barnacas relayed terms and added the Irregulars' personal promise to retrieve the niece's remains. He left the Sending Stone with the dragons for ongoing coordination. Tazmikella shook on a second deal: trade the Staff of Charming for another item from her hoard. All 5 dragons voted in favor; Elia will represent the dragons on the Waterdeep council. Formal document signed.

Level up: everyone +1; Barnacas +2.

Kiviak gave every dragon cookies. Ileuthra said Arma still lives among Kiviak's people as far as he knows; he also enjoys planar travel and collecting artifacts.

To the Misty Forest

Barnacas contacted Delaan Winterhound, who agreed to meet at the Jester's Pride Inn in Julkoun, nearest town to Altand. Barnacas asked Elia not to tell the Waterdeep council where the party was going until the quest is done. Elia flew them to just outside Julkoun.

In Julkoun: the Old Mill doubles as a shrine to Chauntea. Halfling Colin Yevershoulder said raids are frequent nearby, though Julkoun is untouched, and sent them to his father Elden at the Jester's Pride, who served an ale called "the Red Larch Irregular". Meal + room 3 sp each.

Winterhound arrived: the Enclave has been working with Prince Prince Alagarthas; he fears the green Wyrmspeaker is near Altand; thinks Melandrach lacks the Enclave's intel on the raids.
