Session 5 — 2026-02-21

Exploring the tomb: well, traps, library ghost, throne, pool room.

Summary

Killed the tile chimera (Barnacas lent Kiviak the flying broom). Sun mosaic hides a plate with transmutation magic; Zeiria collected loose tiles.

Well room (door marked SAFE): well, bucket, basin + brass lever, red mushrooms (Thorg has eaten them; Zeiria harvested), 3 bedrolls. Water evaporates abnormally fast. Short rest. Lever opens a sluice.

North double doors (copper, wizards peering into a pool summoning a creature) caused a cave-in; dirt keeps refilling. East hall: bone boulder trap blocked by Zeiria's wall of thorns, then Kiviak's immovable rod.

Sarcophagus room: whisper about humility "in the manner of Mystril"; Barnacas knew the gesture; all performed it. Library: ghost with no books; Kiviak pointed this out, she wailed. Throne room: 12-ft bearded giant in purple toga on a cloud throne; tribute demanded (book, cookie, wand of pyrotechnics, 9 violets). Room of irritated people: 5 halberdiers at a table, unknown language. Pool room: empty pool, dead cultist with throat cut by a tooth-dagger (Thorg took it), arrows marked with Merrshaulk's crowned cobra (Yuan-ti god). Filling the pool via the sluice revealed residual divination magic. Thorg and Barnacas resisted looking in.
