Session 1 — 2025-11-01

The party breaks up a Cult of the Dragon toll operation on the road and is summoned to Waterdeep.

Summary

The party rescued merchants Markus & Anika Wiseman from "toll collectors"; Barnacas reimbursed their 10 gp. More thieves lay ahead. When jumped, Viktor ("V") tossed a decoy bag of 10 cp; Barnacas tried talking, but Viktor and Zeiria ("Z") opened with spells. Mid-fight against lizardfolk and kobolds a half-dragon (Thadreelah) arrived to berate the party. All were killed.

Loot and a campsite strongbox (opened by the half-dragon's key) yielded a fortune (see Party Treasure Ledger) and Draconic orders from Cheela Flegsteel, stamped with the Cult of the Dragon seal, telling Thadreelah to bring tolls to "the lair in the Sword Mountains." The half-dragon's body went in the bag of holding; the rest were buried.

At the Bargewright Inn, the party delivered goods to Nalaskur Thaelond, who reported tolls also being collected beyond Womford. Next morning a raven brought Zeiria ("Z") a message from Leosin Erlanthar (a name she knew via her faction) plus a scroll of Teleport: meet him in Waterdeep ASAP. Horses arranged back to Red Larch.
