Session 8

Varram ransomed from the Yuan-ti; mask is at the Well of Dragons; back to Waterdeep at level 9.

Summary

Cleared the snake pit. Final hall: Yuan-ti holding an unconscious Varram. A priestess negotiated: take the dwarf if you leave and stop killing her people. His soul is "temporarily drawn from his body." She claimed he never mentioned a mask, only promised riches. Handed over; Kiviak left them a bag of eggs.

Crossed the slippery bridge with the broom. Varram confessed he used Diderius's pool to divine the mask's location, interrupted by the Yuan-ti, but saw it is at the Well of Dragons. Severin will be very unhappy with him; he'll say more if protected from Severin. Doesn't know how the mask was stolen.

Long rest → level 9. Barnacas cast Sending to Taern "Thunderspells" Hornblade; teleported back by scroll to Leosin's safehouse. Varram told Thunderspells the location; council to decide next steps.
